Magic Tuber Stringband is a Durham, NC-based experimental folk and old-time group. Its main members are Courtney Werner (fiddle, tape loops) and Evan Morgan (guitar, banjo, pump organ) although the group is often joined on stage by other musicians. In 2021, the group released When Sorrows Encompass Me 'Round on Feeding Tube Records and Wind Machines on Garden Portal. Their upcoming release Tarantism will be out later this year on Feeding Tube.

In a Kythe is an ambient project by Lydian Brambila (they/them) built from field recordings and cello loops in Athens, Georgia. Textures drawn from dreams and dog walks are accompanied by ‘zines of prose and photography.

This is a monthly concert series sponsored by the Friends of the Library.

Multipurpose Room C

on such a full sea book cover

After the End book club reads books that feature post-apocalypic, dystopian or alternate history themes. We meet the 1st Thursday of the month at the library (with a virtual Zoom option) and welcome all new members!

"This is the way the world ends
Not with a bang but a whimper." - T. S. Eliot

The world has ended? What's not to love? We know it's not really over. There is still a story to tell. Sometimes it's a story about how the end came; sometimes it's a story of those who survive. If you enjoy these explorations, you will enjoy AFTER THE END, book discussion group dedicated to Post-Apocalyptic fiction and the readers who love it. Questions? This month we'll be reading On Such a Full Sea by Chang-rae Lee.
