Reflecting, Sharing, Learning

Photo of Linda Hobbet and her dogs Dogs do a lot of work for humans, but now that they are companions and live in our homes, dogs' work has become sports for dogs and humans to enjoy together, explains Linda Hobbet in her program What to do with your Dog in Athens. Hobbet is a lifelong student of dogs, studying their behavior, biology, and how to train them. She's very active in the Oconee River Kennel Club.

Obedience, tracking, herding, and agility were among the topics she addressed in her talk on dog sports. Using video to illustrate seven sports, she urged dog owners to "get out there and have fun with your dog." Read a list of resources about sports and training for your dog.
