Live at the Library - The Around the Globe Sea Chantey Singers and Art Rosenbaum

Join us to hear the Around the Globe Sea Chantey Singers and Art Rosenbaum. The Around the Globe Sea Chantey Singers have had a few "gigs"-- the Charleston Tall Ships Festival and the Savannah Ships of the Sea Museum. More often they have gathered informally at The Globe in Athens over the past many years to sing chanteys-- maritime work songs from the "great age of sail," mainly on American and British ships. The group has sung mainly to keep these good songs alive after their era of necessity to drive hard work at sea or in harbor.

Also, Art Rosenbaum, Grammy-winning collector, performer, and writer on American folk songs, will do a set of blues and mountain banjo songs.

Live at the Library is a monthly concert series sponsored by the Friends of the Library.
